Hoher Besuch in Saalbach-Hinterglemm! World-Boxing-Federation Gründer Boris van der Vorst ist zu Gast in Österreich! Bei dieser Gelegenheit hat er auch ÖBV-Präsident Igor Miketic zu einem Austausch getroffen.
Mit dabei waren auch Johannes Hofer (Präsident Boxverband Salzburg) und Tarek Asil (Präsident Boxclub Hallein)! “Es war ein ein großartiger Termin. Ich bin stolz, dass sie auch Zeuge geworden sind, was besprochen worden ist und was wir in die Wege geleitet haben. Es war wirklich konstruktiv,” zeigt sich Igor Miketic begeistert. Boris van der Vorst hat zudem jegliche Unterstützung zugesichert. Auch van der Vorst hat gesehen, wie groß der Boxsport in Österreich geworden ist und das wir als Verband weltweit anerkannt werden. Zudem hat Boris van der Vorst nur lobende Worte für die Entwicklung des Boxsports in Österreich gefunden. “Boris van der Vorst sieht, dass Österreich als Beispiel für alle anderen Länder vorangeht! Er sieht wirklich viel Potential bei uns”, meint Miketic weitet! Auch die Tatsache, dass Österreich eine Medaille bei der Weltmeisterschaft geholt hat, ist van der Vorst nicht entgangen! Wir hoffen auf eine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit auch im Jahr 2026
Boris van der Vorst, founder of the World Boxing Federation, visited Austria and met with representatives of the Austrian Boxing Federation in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
During his visit, Van der Vorst engaged in an in-depth and constructive exchange with our President Igor Miketic. Also present at the meeting were Johannes Hofer (President of the Salzburg Boxing Association) and Tarik Asil (President of Boxing Club Hallein).
“It was an outstanding meeting. I am proud that everyone present was able to witness what we discussed and the initiatives we have set in motion. The discussions were truly constructive,” said Igor Miketic.
During the meeting, Boris van der Vorst assured his full support for the Austrian Boxing Federation. He praised the impressive development of boxing in Austria and acknowledged the federation’s growing international recognition. Austria’s recent sporting successes, including winning a medal at the World Championships, also did not go unnoticed.
“Boris van der Vorst clearly sees Austria as a role model for many other nations. He recognizes the great potential within our federation,” Miketic added.
